October Teacher of the Month:
Denise Skinner
Denise Skinner has dedicated 27 years to Eastland ISD, spending 25 of those years teaching and impacting countless students along the way. Over the course of her career, she has taught at various levels. These include elementary school, where she taught 3rd, 4th, and PE. Junior high, where she taught 7th grade Reading along with 7th and 8th grade Science. Denise has also taken on coaching duties at both the junior high and high school levels. Her commitment to guiding students both in and out of the classroom is unwavering.
Family is at the heart of Denise’s life. She and her husband, Frank, are proud parents to Reese and Rhyne. Denise’s love for the outdoors is evident in her favorite hobbies, which include hunting, fishing, and hiking. She is also passionate about traveling and finds joy and tranquility in exploring both the beach and the mountains.
September Teacher of the Month:
Donna Trammell
With 38 years of teaching experience, Donna Trammell currently teaches Human Anatomy/Physiology and Physics at Eastland High School, where she has been for the past five years. Before joining Eastland, she taught for the Windham School District at the Walker Sayle Unit in Breckenridge and spent 16 years with Breckenridge ISD, serving as science lead at the high school and as the elementary science coordinator. A graduate of the University of Texas, Donna began her career with seven years in coaching, including roles as Head Girls' Basketball and Volleyball Coach at the 3A level. She has been married to Scott Trammell for 38 years, and they have three grown children—Rebekah, Jesse, and Mark—and two grandchildren. Donna enjoys kayaking, fishing, and bicycling. Proud to be part of Eastland HS, she often says, "It's a great day to be a Maverick!
August Teacher of The Month:
Cindy Forrest
Ms. Forrest is a dedicated mom of three, and has been teaching for 24 years. Specializing in reading, writing, language, and spelling (ELAR), she’s passionate about education. Outside of the classroom, she loves swimming, traveling, and diving into a good book. A big sports fan, she roots for the Dallas Cowboys, Texas Rangers, and the Eastland Mavericks. Her favorite treats include turtle candy with pecans, Baby Ruth bars, and chocolate-covered almonds and strawberries. She’s a Hallmark movie lover, especially When Calls the Heart. Fitness is a key part of her life, starting her day with a 5am cardio session and lifting weights after school. Above all, she loves the Lord and strives to serve Him through acts of love and service to others.
